IGP Orders Arrest Of IBB’s Media Aide Over Statement Against Buhari

Following the denial of the public statement by former head of state, Ibrahim Babangida, which he said are personal views of his media aide Prince Kassim Afegbua, Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has reportedly ordered the arrest of IBB’s media aide.

A source in the Presidency who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that a warrant of arrest was issued last night, said IBB’s media aide will be arrested for issuing a fake statement.

However Kassim Afegbua who was on Channels TV last night, maintained that the former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida gave him the permission to release the statement. He went further to disclose that Babangida countered the second statement, as the first stands.

Prince Kassim Afegbua has however been adviced to submit himself to the force headquarters within 24 hours, or face arrest.

Recall that in the first statement linked to Ibrahim Babangida which he denied, President Buhari was advised to give up his second term ambition, and allow young leaders to take over.
